REHAB SENIOR
Course Level
Beginner / Foundation Level
Course Overview
Rehab Senior is an intensive 1-day workshop that equips fitness professionals, caregivers, and healthcare workers with the knowledge and practical skills to reduce falls and improve mobility in older adults. It addresses age-related changes in strength, balance, posture, and gait—key risk factors for falls—and provides evidence-informed strategies for assessment and intervention. Through real-world case applications and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to design functional, safe, and motivating exercise programs that support independent living for seniors.

Relevance to Exercise Professionals
With Singapore’s population aging rapidly—1 in 4 will be over 65 by 2030, and 1 in 3 already experiences a fall each year—Rehab Senior meets a critical need. It enables fitness professionals to:
- Identify fall risk factors and intervene early with functional training
- Design movement strategies tailored to older adults’ needs and conditions
- Work within their scope alongside caregivers and medical professionals to keep seniors active and safe
The course enhances the capacity of fitness professionals to contribute meaningfully to preventive health, particularly in community settings, HPB programs, and active aging centers.
